The Name Jar Project

       In order to build community at the beginning of the year, the mentor text “The Name Jar” by Choi (2001) will form the basis for a Webquest which will engage students and allow them to practice language skills and address the concept of identity. The target learners have not had exposure to Webquests prior to this lesson and will be instructed on this process.  They will practice descriptors at their level including: using reference materials, identifying what happens in a well-structured story and writing information about themselves in short, coherent sentences.
